SPIELART FESTIVAL Munich (2001): "In the performance “scanned V”, the choreography is the material of an artistic process. Movement is recorded on video, digitized and scanned. A dancer (Jayachandran Palazhy, London/Bangalore, India) moves in the projection and becomes part of the recording. A visual dialog takes place between performance and sampling. A media stage space is created in the condensed image of the choreography. The choreography itself is created in the mind of the viewer. Christian Ziegler explained in the magazine “tanzdrama”: "Video is not used here to film something simply. The system processes, scans information on stage, projects it back onto the stage; the whole thing works like a cycle. What is to be depicted is the dance itself; it is a kind of protocol of the choreographic passages, and this protocol can again serve as a source of improvisation by being projected back onto the stage. This is the idea of a medial principle of reorganization."

For “scanned V” he received a production grant from the Cultural Department of the City of Munich "Young Art and New Media"
